The Qatari public utility company of electricity and water announced during the Solar Qatar Summit that solar panels will be installed on the roofs of some of the 85 drinking water reservoirs in the country to save space and reduce costs by using transmission lines already installed. The initiative is another step towards the 2020 target: installing 200MW of solar energy.
