Algeria: ambitious renewable energy program with the aim of generating 2,600 MW between 2011 and 2030

Algeria seeks to cover 40% of its energy consumption with renewable energy. Although energy sufficiency is not a problem in this country thanks to its gas reserves, Algeria aims to establish this plan to prevent future imbalances in supply and demand of non-renewable energy. The program plans to cover 37% of national electricity production with solar energy and 3% with wind power.
